DeKalb police investigating armed robbery on College Avenue, no arrests yet

DeKALB - DeKalb interim Police Chief Bob Redel said no arrests have yet been made in the armed robbery which occurred on College Avenue near Northern Illinois University campus Tuesday.

Redel said DeKalb police detectives are still investigating.

"The victim of the robbery was targeted by the offenders, no injuries to report," Redel said. "Investigators are following up on leads. No arrest at this time."

According to an alert sent out by Northern Illinois University police around 9:50 p.m., the incident occurred in the 500 block of College Avenue and involved two men who fled the area on foot.

Witnesses may remain anonymous by calling 815-753-TIPS (8477). In an emergency, please call 911. Suspicious activity may also be reported by activating an NIU emergency call box on campus.
