The downtown Sycamore shops are gearing up for the annual holiday shopping marathon. Stores will be open late for Moonlight Magic on Friday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. Don’t miss out on the best holiday deals of the season! Bring the entire family as you stroll and shop in our charming downtown and experience a one-of-a-kind magical holiday shopping experience.

Watch storefront windows “come alive” as local fine arts, theater and dance groups perform from 6 to 8 p.m. Theater and dance groups from all across the county will participate. Along with Santa and Mrs. Claus, carolers will create holiday magic as they harmonize and bring the sweet sounds of the season to State Street.

Live holiday windows and fabulous sales will be featured in the following businesses: Sweet Earth Jewelry and Gifts, Gallery on State, Performing Arts Academy, Sycamore Antiques, Kramer’s Kitchen and Bath, Beth Fowler’s School of Dance and more.

Remember to shop, dine and enjoy local this holiday season. Supporting local businesses in turn supports the area where we live, work and play.

Moonlight Magic is brought to you by Discover Sycamore.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, bring your sweetheart or just your sweet tooth to Sycamore’s Winter Chocolate Walk to be held from noon to 8 p.m. Enjoy the best of our downtown shops while sampling a vast array of fine chocolate desserts. Enjoy hot chocolate, chocolate covered candy canes, chocolate wine, chocolate pretzels, chocolate donuts, chocolate dipped mini cones and much more! Shopping doesn’t get much sweeter than this!

Tickets cost $12 and only 300 tickets will be sold. Start your decadent evening at Blumen Gardens, 403 Edward St. in Sycamore, and there you will pick up your souvenir hot cocoa mug, Chocolate Walk bingo card, and be delighted with your first chocolate treat courtesy of Blumen Gardens.

Be sure to visit all 16 stops to fill up your map. When your card is complete, drop it off with your name and phone number into the Chocolate Walk bag at your final location. A winner will be drawn to win a gift basket valued at more than $300.
