A lot has changed since then. A ton of players graduated or transferred out. A handful of transferred in. Thomas Hammock has been able to prepare for Year 2 by hitting the recruiting trail hard.
And, oh yeah, a pandemic has fundamentally changed life in this country for the past seven months.
Novel viruses aside, there's a lot of new faces all over the place for NIU. A lot of inexperience. So here are five guys - new or not - who if they have good years, NIU will almost for sure bounce back from its 5-7 campaign a year ago.
