DeKALB – Have you ever wanted to learn to geocache?
DeKalb Public Library’s youth librarian, Julie Zaborac, and her husband and local cubmaster George Jaros will host a fun treasure hunt in Prairie Park. The program will begin with an introduction to geocaching, then coordinates will be given for participants to find some caches on their own.
Sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17.
This program is weather-dependent. Zaborac and Jaros will ride between the caches to answer any questions or concerns and make sure participants are having a successful time. Masks are encouraged, and social distancing is required.
Participants should bring a GPS or a phone with GPS capabilities; long sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes; bug spray and sunblock.
Register for either session at dkpl.org. Space is limited to four groups of geocachers.
