Prep roundup: Kougars compete in virtual cross country meet

The Kishwaukee cross country teams competed in a virtual relay organized by Rockford University on Tuesday.

In the four-year college heavy meet, the men's team was 11th. Nick Fiore led the Kougars with a 16:14.

Anne Hickey led the Kougar women with a 21:55.

The Rockford University "Virtual Relay" had teams running their own race at their own location at their own time with just their team members. Colleges then divided their squads into pairs and each pair alternated running a mile loop until all team members complete 6 miles total, or 3 miles each.

MEN'S GOLF

Kish men 12th at Silvis: The Kougars shot a 341 as a team at the 22nd Annual Duane Chanay Invitational at TPC Deer Run.

Aurora won with a 294.

Thomas O'Connor and Dyllon Davis each posted a 76, tying for 13th overall for the Kougars.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Kaneland beats, Marmion, Sandwich: Without two top runners, the Knights still picked up the win with 27 points.

Aaron Lodwig picked up his first individual win for the Knights, storming to the victory in the last 150 meters, finishing in 16:42. Nolan Allen was fourth in 16:51.

The Knights are off until September 26.

BOYS GOLF

Kaneland tops Ottawa: The Knights went under 150 for the second day in a row, beating Ottawa 149-168.

Josh Pehl and Cody Ganzon each shot a 1-under 35. Ryan Milton added a 39 and Hagan Rank shot a 40.
