DeKALB – It's almost time for another DeKalb County festival: bold in spirit and plentiful in, well, spirits.
The second Bold Spirits Fest of DeKalb County tasting is back Saturday, June 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jonamac Orchard, 19412 Shabbona Road in Malta. Hosted by the DeKalb County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Bold Spirits fest will showcase 10 adult beverages for tasting, including locally made bourbon, microbrews, wine, and hard cider.
Tickets are available online for $25 each, and will also be available at the entrance for $30 on the day of the event, which will happen rain or shine, a news release from the bureau shows. The festival is for people 21 or older, but designated drivers who don't plan to imbibe can enjoy the rest of festivities for $10 a ticket, the release shows.
Hick's BBQ and Craft Urban will be on site serving food, the release shows, with live music from Pat McKillan from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and Back Country Roads from 7 to 9 p.m. Guests may bring their own lawn chairs, but no outside food or drinks are allowed.
Tickets will get you two tastings each from five DeKalb County Bold Spirits partners, including The Forge Brewhouse Tap Room, Jonamac Orchard, Prairie State Winery, Waterman Vineyards & Winery, and Whiskey Acres Distilling Co.
