DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St., will host an information session on the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The IBCCP helps to provide screening tests for breast and cervical care, such as clinical breast exam by provider, mammogram, ultrasound, MRI for the breast and for the cervix, pap smears, human papilloma virus and colposcopy.
This program is for women and men with no insurance, high-deductible insurance or those with insurance who have not kept current with their screening tests.
Persons must be older than 40 to qualify for assistance with breast exams, except for women ages 19 to 39 with symptoms or a strong history of breast cancer.
Persons must be age 21 to 65 to qualify for a cervical pap test. You must be at least 30 to qualify for HPV testing.
This session is free and open to all; no registration is required.
A Spanish translator will be present during the workshop. It will be in the lower-level Yusunas Meeting Room.
