DeKALB – Police are searching for a man who they said choked his pregnant girlfriend and shot another woman, according to a news release from the DeKalb Police Department.

Rodrick D. Smith, 25, of Berkeley has two warrants out for his arrest, one of which has no bond attached, the other bearing $500,000.

According to the release, Smith fled the 800 block of Spiros Court after choking his pregnant girlfriend, and on March 1, a patient at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital reported that she’d been shot by Smith.

The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Police consider Smith armed and dangerous, according to the release.

If you know where he is or have any other information, call the DeKalb Police Department at 815-748-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 815-895-3272.

Crime Stoppers tipsters can remain anonymous, and may be in line for a $1,000 reward, typically.

The charges on the warrants are for aggravated domestic battery, which has no bond attached, and armed habitual criminal and aggravated battery, for which bond was set at $500,000.
