Big series from Elbery leads Barbs boys to win over Hubs

DEKALB – Nicklaus Elbery rolled a 678 series as the DeKalb bowling team knocked off Rochelle, 3,167 to 2,770.

Logan Zarek’s 548 was second-best for the Barbs. Michael Rae added a 213 game for the Barbs.

Other series scores for DeKalb were Rae with 497, Jacob Lindgren (481), Dylan Kersten (530) and Aaron Olson (433).

The Barbs remain at home with a Thursday match against Ottawa. The match begins at 4 p.m. at Mardi Gras Lanes.


Rochelle tops IC: Abby Lundquist poured in 37 points for Rochelle as the Lady Hubs went on the road and defeated Indian Creek, 61-51.

Jade Milostan and Brooke Heimaneach scored 13 points apiece for the Timberwolves. Katie Cassidy added 11 points.


DeKalb girls down Kaneland: The Barbs defeated the Knights 2,754-2,511.

Mikala Rae led the way with her 626 series.

Kaneland freshman Alexis Vittal led the Knights with a 492 series and high game of 185. Shelby Harper had a high game of 183, including her first Turkey of the season.


Cogs fall to Hubs: Genoa-Kingston fell at the hands of Rochelle 74-60.


Cogs wrestling falls narrowly: Harvard defeated Genoa-Kingston in wrestling 42-40 as the Cogs forfeited in three weight classes.
