DeKALB – The Sycamore bowling team rode a big second game to beat DeKalb in the first rivalry match of the season, 3,491-3,302.
“They didn’t have a very good practice this week, so I was a little leery,” Sycamore coach Aaron Williams said. “But they came tonight all focused and ready to go. I don’t know if it was just because it was DeKalb or what, but I like to see the focus that we had tonight.”
The Spartans’ top three bowlers each topped 200 pins in Game 2, giving Sycamore a 165-point lead going into Game 3.
“It’s exciting,” Sycamore junior Riley Runowiecki said. “That’s when it’s most fun, when everyone is doing good. It’s a lot of fun when you’re doing good individually, but when the team is doing good, it’s a lot more fun.”
