The Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce is planning the annual State of the City presentation in Genoa for Nov. 13 at Genoa City Hall, 333 E. First St.
The chamber has hosted a monthly meeting in November each of the past few years, focusing on what has been accomplished and what is on the horizon for Genoa. Tickets to the State of the City luncheon reception cost $15 and the event is open to the public. Lunch will be catered by Premiere Catering. You can register and pay online today through the Genoa Area Chamber’s website, GenoaAreaChamber.com, or call the chamber at 815-784-2212.
Mayor Mark Vicary provided a short preview of some of the topics he and city staff will be speaking on at the event.
A review of the progress made in 2018 to date will be presented, including the recent commercial and industrial developments, as well as the city’s economic outlook with an overview of the city’s fiscal strengths and challenges. City staff also will provide an update on larger projects and initiatives of 2018.
“As we continue to see increased activity in industrial, residential and commercial growth, I believe the hard work of the city, including staff, elected officials, residents and businesses, is beginning to bear fruit, which is leading to much excitement within the community,” Vicary said.
It is an exciting time to be a member of the Genoa community and the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce. If you are looking to open a business in the area, we hope you will consider doing so in Genoa.
Join us on Nov. 13 at the State of the City luncheon for more information on the economic growth and development of our wonderful city.
