MAPLE PARK – The Kaneland Knights didn’t possess the ball much against the Sycamore Spartans, but they only needed 18 seconds to notch a 2-0 Northern Illinois Big 12 win.
The Knights (3-6, 2-1 NIB 12) came out eager to get back in the win column after suffering a 5-1 conference loss to DeKalb this week and pushed the ball into the offensive zone early.
“Obviously, it feels good,” Kaneland coach Scott Parillo said. “It’s just that we don’t know which team is showing up. The one that was at DeKalb, or the one that was here today. We jumped on them early, and that’s what we needed to do, so I’m happy.”
