Prep roundup: Indian Creek golfers beat Somonauk

The Indian Creek boys golf team held off Somonauk on Tuesday.

The Timberwolves finished with a 200-206 win.

R.J. McCoy was the medalist, finishing with a 44 for Indian Creek.

Cogs fall at Silver Ridge: G-K finished with a 202, while Oregon won with a 189, and Polo shot a 202.

Trevor Pierce shot a 47 to lead the Cogs.

H-BR falls to Newark: The Royals lost, 180-213.

Dylan Whitt led Hinckley-Big Rock with a 51.


G-K edges Oregon: Hannah Mueller’s 57 helped the Cogs top the Hawks, 242-244.

Amber Fellows shot a 59 for Genoa-Kingston.


Morris tops DeKalb: The Barbs lost, 4-1, and fell to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the Northern Illinois Big 12.

Dasjha Eguasa picked up a 6-3, 6-7, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles for the Barbs.


Sycamore tops Morris: The Spartans won, 25-16, 25-23, for the sweep.

IC falls at Earlville: The Timberwolves lost, 25-21, 25-23.

Evelyn Witte had 13 kills to lead IC, while Riley Oros added 17 assists and 10 digs. Trysta Foster had 11 digs.


G-K beats Byron: After a scoreless regulation and overtime, the Cogs beat the Tigers on penalty kicks.

Alejo Pacheco, Omar Ortega-Lara, Jack Bouque and Eagan Reames connected on their PKs, while Rony Vasquez made two stops to preserve the win.

Sycamore falls to Yorkville: The Spartans lost, 2-0. Sycamore fell to 4-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Northern Illinois Big 12 East.


G-K boys soccer picks up win: Three different Cogs scored in a 3-1 victory at Sandwich.

Jack Bouque was credited with the goal on an own goal in the first minute for Genoa-Kingston (2-7), then Pedro Tinajero scored in the 17th minute. Omar Ortega Lara scored on a penalty kick.

DeKalb golfers second at Ivanhoe Classic: Barrington finished with a 296, but the Barbs were second overall with a 323 as a team. Jack Paeglow shot a 74 to take fourth, while Emma Carpenter also was in the top 10 with a 79.
