MAPLE PARK – The Kaneland School District 302 Board is looking for applicants for a vacancy after board member Peter Lopatin resigned.
The individual selected will serve on the board from the date of appointment through the April 2, 2019, consolidated election, according to the news release. Applicants can submit a letter of application and résumé to the board at 47W326 Keslinger Road, Maple Park, IL 60151 by 3 p.m. Friday.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 18 years old, a state and Kaneland district resident for at least one year before appointment, be a registered voter, not be a child sex offender, not hold another incompatible public office, not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the district, not be a school trustee and not hold certain types of prohibited state or federal employment, the release said.
Applicants should show a familiarity with the board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a board and a board member, which are available at kaneland.org/board-of-ed. Those policies include fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban, the release said.
The board will review all applications, interview selected candidates and make a selection by Sept. 24.
