Two bars busted for selling to minors

DeKALB - Two local liquor establishments face possible suspension or even revocation of their licenses after allegedly providing alcohol for minors. The city cited Twin Tavern & Discount Liquors Inc., 1028 S. Fourth St., for reportedly violating the DeKalb Municipal Code on or around Nov. 13. The tavern was cited for allowing a minor to be in the bar area, allowing a minor to purchase alcohol without having to show identification with a birth date and allowing a minor to purchase alcohol on the premises. Andy's Lounge, 317 E. Lincoln Highway, was cited for allowing a minor to be in the bar area, allowing a minor to be served alcohol without having to show identification to prove age, and allowing a minor to be served and consume and possess alcohol on the premises on or around Nov. 13. Both establishments will go before the DeKalb liquor commissioner at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 during a public hearing. The establishments could be fined and have their licenses suspended or revoked for the reported violations.
