SYCAMORE – A DeKalb man is being held on $500,000 bond after being accused of engaging in and photographing sexual acts with a teenage boy.

Michael A. DiMichele, 58, of the 300 block of N. Fourth St. in DeKalb, is facing seven felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, criminal sexual assault and five counts of child pornography.

According to court files, DiMichele had sex with a male between 13 and 17 years old Nov. 16. The documents also allege he engaged in oral sex and fondled the minor. Child pornography charges stem from accusations that DiMichele took pictures of himself engaging in sex with the victim.

Before the judge set the bond, Assistant State’s Attorney Phil Montgomery asked the judge to consider further evidence from a search warrant of DiMichele’s and the victim’s Facebook and electronic messaging accounts that produced explicit emails, pictures of full frontal nudity and photographs of the victim dressed in lingerie.

DiMichele faces up to 97 years in prison because each Class 1 felony carries up to 15 years in prison and the lone Class 2 felony charge carries a maximum seven-year term. DiMichele, who is self-employed, will be represented by the DeKalb County Public Defender’s Office.

His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 3.
