2 arrested, 3 sought after DeKalb fight
SYCAMORE – Two people have been arrested and three others are at large after police say they attacked others at a party Monday in DeKalb.
DeKalb Police Sgt. Bob Redel said a group of friends beat up two women at a party at 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of West Taylor Street. One had a broken nose and swollen eye, he said.
Charged are Jessica H. Diming, 21, of the 1400 block of Elmwood Avenue in DeKalb; and Niekata Kizer, Arricka Kizer, Tanesha Jones and Tywan Frierson.
Redel said there may be a third victim involved. A previous altercation seems to have been the cause of the fight, he said.
Warrants were issued Wednesday for the arrests of those involved.
Bond for Diming and Jones was set at $50,000; bond for Niekata Kizer was set at $75,000. Bond for Arricka Kizer and Tywan Frierson was set at $100,000 each, Redel said.
Diming, who appeared Thursday at the DeKalb County Courthouse via closed-circuit TV, was charged with two counts of mob action, a Class 4 felony punishable by up to three years in prison; one count of aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony punishable by up to five years in prison; and four counts of battery, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison.
The charges and counts are the same for the others involved except Frierson, who is charged with one count of mob action, one count of aggravated battery and two counts of battery.
The public defender was appointed to represent Diming, whose criminal history includes charges of aggravated battery and mob action. She will next appear in court April 30.
Niekata Kizer was arrested Thursday morning, Redel said.
