The Genoa-Kingston High School Class of 2024 celebrated the conclusion of their high school journey Saturday during a commencement ceremony at the high school.
Kaneland High School graduates were celebrated during the school’s 2024 Commencement Ceremony at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
DeKalb County Sheriff Andy Sullivan was joined by dozens Sunday outside Isaac Executive Suites in DeKalb to help unveil a new first responders memorial, with a special plaque dedicated to the late Sheriff's Deputy Christina Musil, 35, who was killed while on duty after a March 28 crash.

Area teams including Marmion Academy, Rock Falls, Sandwich, Sterling, Dixon, Mendota, Plano, Sycamore, Wheaton Academy and St. Francis were at Sycamore High School Thursday to compete in the IHSA Class 2A boys track sectional.
The Sycamore girls soccer team took on Woodstock in a Class 2A regional semifinal Wednesday at Kaneland High School in Maple Park.
The Sterling softball team traveled to Sycamore for a matchup of two teams headed to the postseason.
Students in the DeKalb School District 428 Transition Program did some work in one of the green houses Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Walnut Grove Vocational Farm in Kirkland. The Transition Program is dedicated to serving students with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 18 to 22.
