EVANSTON – Postseason veteran Kei Ishimaru gladly adheres to the regulations of the IHSA boys swimming state meet, but the DeKalb-Sycamore co-op senior also has some rules of his own.

DeKALB – Leah Eames had heard of Dylan Powers before the swimming season began. It was difficult not to.

The DeKalb-Sycamore co-op boys swimming team defeated McHenry, 108-60, on Tuesday.

Courtney Patrick scored the first seven points for DeKalb’s girls basketball team Saturday night, and the Barbs held on for a 40-36 win against Providence Academy.

DeKALB – Kei Ishimaru knew he had a chance to win the 100-yard freestyle in Thursday’s meet against Jacobs, even after getting off to a slow start. He knew he only needed an average race by his standards.

The DeKalb-Sycamore co-op swimming team opened up its season with a 109-51 victory against West Chicago on Thursday.

DeKALB – It’s not just about making the state meet anymore for Kei Ishimaru.

It is never easy competing in unfamiliar territory.
