Fleetwood has tough finish

It was loud. It left the crowd silent. But, judging from Rhianna Fleetwood's reaction at the end of Wednesday night's season-ending sectional loss to Burlington Central, you would have never known that Fleetwood broke her arm when she was hit by a pitch from Rockets fireballer Mackenzie Scott.

Fleetwood cheered her team on until the finish, icing that arm.

"She is going to be stuck in a cast all summer long watching her summer ball team play from the dugout," Sycamore coach Jill Carpenter said in an e-mail. "She's a great kid and a fierce competitor and will come back stronger than ever from this temporary setback. That I have no doubt about."
