Neighbors gave with donations
To the Editor:
Dear neighbors,
My heartfelt “thank you” to all in Somonauk Meadows, Woodgate and the outlying areas for your generous donations for the Sycamore Food Pantry on Oct. 27.
Your generous support allowed us to deliver three cars filled with food and monetary donations of more than $600 to help those less fortunate in our community during these difficult times.
If anyone desires to donate in the future, please feel free to call me for pick-up at 815-895-6191.
You may also leave your donations at Sycamore United Methodist Church, as well.
Again, thank you for your donations, as well as the gracious volunteers of the Methodist church and the food pantry for their assistance in arranging to receive our delivery on Saturday.
A very special thank you to my family and friends who helped collect the food. What a wonderful way to meet our neighbors and to gain “very special new friends.” Our endeavors have inspired others to organize similar projects for the pantry, and hopefully we can do this again, as the need has increased 50 percent in our community.
