Greenery Sale deadline: Tuesday for Big Rock Boy Scout Troop 19’s sale. Call 815-286-7228 or 815-286-7275 to order fresh balsam items with large red velvet bows, including wreaths in six sizes, 25- or 50-foot-long roping or garland, memorial pots and grave blankets in three sizes, swags, canes and crosses, which will be delivered Thanksgiving weekend.
DeKalb Music Boosters annual fruit sale order deadline: Friday. Call Diane DeMers at 815-756-3874 or visit www.fruitorder.com and click on “Order Now!” and then enter the code “339361” for the Organization ID, to order navel oranges, tangelos and pink grapefruits in 10-, 20- and 40-pound boxes. The Triple Charmer, a combination of oranges, grapefruits and Washington State apples, also is available. The fruit can be picked up the week of Dec. 7 at DeKalb High School, or, for an additional charge, can be delivered by the postal service to a residence or business. This fundraiser is one of two held by DeKalb Music Boosters, which will help purchase a trailer to transport musical instruments and equipment to performances. Boosters also is helping with the cost of sending the DeKalb High School band, orchestra and choir classes to a music festival in Atlanta, Ga.
Montessori Children’s House of Sycamore holiday greenery order deadline: Friday. Call 815-895-0303 to order 26-inch balsam wreaths, swags, garlands, etc., to assist Montessori Children’s House of Sycamore with operating expenses and classroom supplies. Greenery will be delivered the first week of December.
30th annual Christmas in the Country Arts & Crafts Show: 9 a.m.-4 p .m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Sandwich High School, Sandwich Middle School and Lynn Haskins Grade School, south of Route 30 on Wells, Lions and Dayton streets, with shuttle service to all schools. One admission, $2, will allow shoppers into all buildings. No strollers or smoking is allowed in any building. Lunch will be served in the high and middle schools and a door prize drawing will be held in the middle school. More than 150 crafters are planned. For information, call Jo Ann at 630-466-4546.
St. John’s Lutheran Church Holiday Market: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the church, located at 235 S. Green St. in Somonauk. A luncheon will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; donations will benefit Our Sharing Pantry, which serves Somonauk, Leland and Sandwich, with donations up to $900 matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
