SYCAMORE – A court hearing in a lawsuit regarding a wind farm being constructed in the southwest portion of the county has been continued to Dec. 3.

Judge Michael Colwell was expected to rule Thursday on several motions in the suit, including a motion by DeKalb County to dismiss the original complaint. Instead, all pending motions will be heard in December.

The lawsuit was filed in July against all 24 members of the DeKalb County Board and the wind farm developer by a citizens’ group called Citizens for Open Government, which opposes the project. The group is seeking to halt construction of the 151 wind turbines in the project and to prevent the project from ever going online.

In the suit, the group claims the county board ignored its own zoning laws when members voted in June to grant the project special use status. County officials disagree.
