Letters: Where is our outcry?
To the editor:
To the Republicans and especially to the conservatives of this county, what are we doing? I have to ask this question; what is our party doing within DeKalb County?
Our nation finds itself in the strangling grasp of a "far leftist oligarchy," says constitutional attorney and talk show host Mark Levin. Conservatives everywhere are in uproar over the “change” that President Obama and his administration want to inflict upon these United States and yet we the conservatives of this county from what my eyes have observed stay silent!
It is one thing for political organizations such as the Young Republican Party of DeKalb to discuss such issues at functions but it is quite another to take action; where is the action? Where is our outcry?
Every Friday in the late afternoon, I see liberals standing in Memorial Park protesting the war effort amongst other things, yet I still see only one patriot on the other side holding our country’s flag with sacred reverence! Where are the people who believe in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution? Where are the people who will fight to discard tyranny but who shall always adhere to liberty? Where are the patriots of this country, and especially of this county?
I’m not referring to the flip-floppers or the lukewarm Republicans, but to those who believe word for word what our Founding Fathers believed, wrote, signed, and put to action, those principals that which so many Americans have fought and paid for with blood? This is not a time in this nation’s history to say, “I’ll leave it to the other guy!”
No, we all must take a stand and demonstrate that we love liberty and refuse tyranny, we love the Constitution and hate the far leftist agenda, we who believe the people should be bigger than the government, we who teach our children tradition, tolerance, and understanding not endless retribution and indoctrination? My fellow conservatives and citizens in general, these are dark times for America, the question is what is the light; in my perspective we have two choices the Constitution and Declaration of Independence as the founders saw it or Obama’s Government who is acting in silent revolution against those Articles of this great land. Those are the choices. Read, educate yourselves, and make an intelligent decision based upon all the resources available to us as Americans.
