Letters: Sick and tired of the socialists

To the editor:
Soon we may have a health care policy that polls show a vast majority of the American people in this great country do not want. If it is jammed down our throats, some of the Washington empty suits voting for it will be voted out of office in 2010. Some people think they will be getting free health care but nothing is free. Have you heard the saying, "if you think it is high now, wait until it is free"?
Can you imagine that if you refuse to buy insurance, you may be levied a fine? Think about that – communism at its best. The empty suit congressmen in Washington will not be in on this great health care plan that the great unwashed will be forced into. Kind of makes you wonder why it is not good enough for them or their families – but wait – they gave themselves a Cadillac plan of their own years ago at our expense.
I believe most Americans are getting sick and tired of the socialists in Washington who are ruining this great country, starting with the president, by trying to run everything in our lives, be it banks, car companies, and now health care, and God knows what else they may have up their socialist sleeves. God help us.
I remember when I was a kid, U.S. Sen. Joe McCarthy had hearings on communists in our government and he was demonized for it, but history shows he was right. Before some of you have a conniption fit, remember who was setting on his "left" during those 1950s hearings. It was poster boy Bobby Kennedy. He worked for Joe – look it up.
P.S. We are lucky that Obama, Daley and the Chicago crowd did not get the Olympics, as it has saved the Illinois tax payers hundreds of millions, possibly billions of dollars. Did anyone tell this clueless bunch that Illinois is flat broke? Chicago is also flat broke and unable to control the cost of anything and would have put the burden of this boondoggle on every citizen in our state. All of their connected cronies would have made out like bandits selling overpriced land, etc., at the expense of the rest of us. Sorry to say our great country is now being run by this gang!
