Letters: Learn about Freemasonry
To the editor:
On behalf of DeKalb Masonic Lodge No. 144, I'd like to thank all of the public who came out to our Lodge's Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 6. We had 14 visitors who attended the function, where they toured a real Masonic Lodge room, set up for a meeting, asked questions about our organization and participated in a discussion about fictional author, Dan Brown's new book, "The Lost Symbol."
Freemasonry in the DeKalb-Sycamore area has been strong since the mid 1850s and we're proud to say that we're attracting new members weekly to an organization that was critical to the foundation of our great country.
Again, thanks to everyone who came out and if anyone would like to learn more about Freemasonry, please visit our Lodge on any second or fourth Tuesday evening of any month, between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
James Tome
Worshipful Master, DeKalb Masonic Lodge
