Local educator to speak at downstate library

Donna Bennett of DeKalb has been invited to speak in November at Glen Carbon Centennial Library.

She will read from and discuss the process of writing her children's book, "Jessica's Bear."

Bennett also is the co-author of "Elementary Field Experiences, A Handbook With Resources," a book for beginning and student teachers, and "Walk Through the Valley of Death," a book about a family's experience in caring for a loved one with a terminal illness.

Bennett has lived in DeKalb for more than 50 years and taught in elementary schools for more than 23 years.
