Let your passion for chocolate go wild and sample all kinds of chocolate – cookies, brownies, cakes, cheesecake and ice cream – at Safe Passage’s Evening of Chocolate.

The fundraising event will be held Nov. 7 at St. Mary’s Church Activity Center, 322 Waterman Street, Sycamore.

The highlight of the evening will be the Chocolatier’s Challenge, a baking contest with delicious chocolate items submitted by members of the community. Chocolate lovers and chefs of all skill levels are invited to participate in several  categories: Cookies/Brownies/Bars, Pies and Cakes, Other Desserts, and Youth.

Applications for the Chocolatier’s Challenge can be obtained at www.safepassagedv.org or call Susan W. at 815-756-7930.

In addition, guests can taste all of the entered food items from 6:30-8:30 p.m., as well as purchase 50/50 raffle prize tickets. Tickets for the all-the-chocolate-you-can-eat event are $20 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students of all ages, and free for children 6 or younger. A table for eight costs $80 and must be reserved in advance of the event.

Safe Passage, DeKalb County’s domestic and sexual violence prevention and intervention agency, provides a wide range of services to survivors. These services include short- and long-term housing, crisis intervention services, counseling, legal advocacy, children’s services, community education, and a batterer’s intervention program.

For additional information about the public tasting, the Chocolatier’s Challenge, Safe Passage, or to purchase event tickets or 50/50 raffle tickets, call the number above.
