Sectional XC Roundup: Barbs girls 14th at East Peoria

The DeKalb girls cross country team finished in 14th place at the East Peoria Sectional.
The Barbs had 365 points.
Freshman Danielle Dlabal led the DeKalb, coming in 25th place with a time of 20:57. Irisa Hescott finished 73rd (22:15), Christin Bothe took 82nd (22:32), while Alex Wade finished 85th (22:34).
Yorkville won the meet with 70 points.
Kurpius 59th: Genoa-Kingston Freshman Renae Kurpius finished in 59th place at the Aurora Christian Sectional, with a time of 21:08.
"She ran great and it was in tough conditions due to the mud," G-K coach Kate Traub said. "I'm really looking forward to seeing what she can do in the next few years."
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Barbs finish 18th: DeKalb's boys cross country team came in 18th at the East Peoria Sectional with 447 points. Nick Schrader led DeKalb, finishing in 55th place at 17:39. Dalton Bates took 81st (18:15), and Matt Shamuluas came in 92nd (18:34).
Peora Notre Dame won the meet with 45 points.
