Pork loin dinner: 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. seatings, Wednesday – the doors will open at 4:30 p.m. – at Grace United Methodist Church, 506 Willow St., Maple Park. The meal will be served family-style. Sons of the American Legion Fish fry: 5-8 p.m. Friday at Genoa Veterans Home, 311 S. Washington St. Cost is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $7 for children younger than 12.

Fourth annual Willard Aves American Legion Post 1010 Kingston Pork Chop Dinner: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Varsity Pub, Route 72 in Kingston. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12. Proceeds will support the Genoa-Kingston and Hiawatha Scholarship Fund and honor Veterans Day and birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Burger buffet:
Noon-2 p.m. Saturdays at Genoa Veterans Home, 311 S. Washington St. Cost is $2.75 for a hamburger or cheeseburger with chips or $4 for the sandwich and buffet.

Masons Italian Dinner: 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the DeKalb Masonic Temple at South Fourth Street/Route 23 and Fairview Drive in the southeast part of DeKalb. Support local charitable needs with this all-you-can-eat dinner of lasagna, mostaccioli, spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce, Caesar salad; cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children 16 and younger or $25 for two adults and up to four children. Malta United Methodist Church’s annual roast beef dinner: 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday at South Third and Sprague streets. The event will include a bake sale and auction. Tickets cost $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-11 and free for children 4 and younger.

Monthly church suppers: Seating times are 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., usually on first Saturday each month at Kingston United Methodist Church, 121 W. First St. Saturday, the meat for the monthly church supper will be turkey. Dinners include dessert. Donations are $8 for adults and $3.50 for children. Gift certificates are available.

Masons’ pancake breakfast: 7:30-11 a.m. Sundays at DeKalb Masonic Temple at Fairview Drive and Fourth Street. The public is invited. Suggested donations for this all-you-can-eat traditional pancake breakfast are $6 for adults, $3 for children, ages 5-12, and free for children, younger than 4. The meal includes french toast, eggs cooked to order, sausage links, toast, coffee and milk. Side orders also can be purchased: Biscuits and gravy, $4 and $2; egg, 50 cents; and assorted juices, 75 cents.

Veterans Day Weekend Pancake Breakfast: 8-11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Sandwich Fire Station. Indian Valley Vocational Center’s SkillsUSA organization will sponsoring the pancake and sausage breakfast. Advanced ticket costs are $5 for adults and $3 for children younger than 12 and seniors older than 65. Members of the military are free with military ID. At the door, adult tickets will cost $7. SkillsUSA is a state and national organization that gives high school students the opportunity to belong to a group that stresses leadership, team building, professional development and community service. Genoa-Kingston United Way fundraiser: 5-6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Genoa-Kingston High School, 980 Park Ave. in Genoa. Each two pork chop dinner, $10 each, must be ordered before the drive-thru dinner event. All proceeds will directly benefit 21 agencies of the Genoa-Kingston United Way, which rely on United Way funding each year. Contact Melissa Stoffregen at 815-784-2843 to purchase tickets. The pork chop dinner catered by Whitman’s Catering also will include potato salad, baked beans, applesauce, rolls and butter.

Benefit spaghetti dinner: 5:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave., served by the youth of the church to raise money for a mission trip. Cost is $5. The dinner will be served before the Blackwood Brothers gospel quartet concert, which starts at 7 p.m. at the church.

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hinckley annual corned beef and cabbage supper: 4:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at View and McKinley streets. Carry outs are available. Cost is $9 for adults, 18 and older; $6 for youths, 6-17; and free for children 5 and younger. The Women’s Bazaar starts at 3 p.m.

Mayfield Congregational Church of Christ annual Fall Pancake Breakfast: 6:30-11 a.m. Nov. 14 at the church at the corner of Church and Aldrich roads in rural Sycamore. Tickets will be available at the door for $7.50 adults and $3.50 for children ages 4-10; the meal is free for children younger than 4. Whole hog sausage will be available for purchase in the downstairs dining hall. Visit the Women’s Fellowship Country Store located in the narthex for fresh-baked and -preserved goods. Chili/Soup Supper with salad/dessert bar: 4:30-7 p.m., served continuously, Nov. 14 at Faith United Methodist Church, 325 S. Stott St. in Genoa. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 6-12. Other soups will be available for younger children and the meal is free for children 5 and younger.

Benefit breakfast: 7 a.m.-noon Nov. 15 in the Parish Hall of St. Catherine of Genoa, 340 S. Stott St. Genoa, sponsored by the St. Catherine Parish family, Knights of Columbus 14294 and the Men’s Club of St. Catherine’s Church for Ashley Kim, the Genoa-Kingston Middle School seventh-grader who was paralyzed during a summer pool party accident. All of the donations collected at the public breakfast will go directly to the Kim family to help with ongoing medical expenses. Shabbona United Church of Christ 116th annual Turkey Dinner and Country Bazaar: Nov. 19, with the bazaar opening at 3 p.m. and the dinner from 4:30-7 p.m.  Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-10 and free for younger children. Carry-out meals cost $10 and can be picked up from 4-6 p.m.
