Military veterans and service members are eligible for one free oil and filter change from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at certain DeKalb County businesses.

The free car service is limited to one 4- to 5-quart oil and filter change per veteran. The service excludes trucks, vans and diesel engines.

DeKalb County Veterans Assistance Commission personnel and the Northern Illinois University Veteran’s Assistance Office will be available at The Auto Clinic to answer questions and provide free food. At 2 p.m., organizers will recognize a veteran who won a car.

Scheduling is limited at certain locations, so veterans should call in advance.
