Children’s theater announces cast for ‘Miracle on 34th Street’

Children’s Community Theatre has selected the cast for its upcoming stage production of the classic Christmas movie, “Miracle on 34th Street.”
The show will be presented six times, Dec. 4-6 and Dec. 11-13 at Kishwaukee College. Tickets are available online at CCTOnstage.com and at the door.
The play, directed by Scott Montavon, is based on the 1947 Hollywood classic about a department store Santa ... who just might be the real thing. It follows the life of Kris Kringle from the day he steps in for an inebriated Santa in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade until Christmas Day when he makes dreams come true. In between he becomes the center of a courtroom controversy where his sanity and identity are called into question.
George Schippits of Genoa plays the role of Kris Krigle, who makes all of New York City wonder if he isn’t actually Santa Claus, while teaching young Susan Wood (a role shared by Merri Bork and Emma Rynkewicz) a lesson about having faith. Susan’s mother, Doris, who hires Kris, then worries she has a mad man working for her, is played by Kara Wilkins. Attorney Fred Gailey, who saves Kris from the asylum, while winning Doris’ heart, is played by Mike Daffenberg. The psychiatrist, who almost ruins Christmas, is played by Amy Jakobsen, while retail giants Macy and Gimble are portrayed by Max Maxwell and Tamara Myers.
Other cast members bringing this Christmas classic to life include Dominic Johnson, Jessica Wilson, Bridget Johnson, Maddie Disz, Matthew Johnson, Gabrielle Melms, Anna Butler, Carla Johnson, Sean Connors, Alyssa Rogers, Peyton Eitel, John Mehalic, Spencer Mendel, Lisa Headon, Becky Faulker, Janet Morris, Jared Montavon, Skyler Montavon, Scott Montavon and Evan Horlock.
The ensemble includes Alyssa Berg, Jennifer Busby, Jacob Costliow, Alexandria Headon, Colton Headon, Rachael Johnson, Cassidy Loft, Carter Maxwell, Alanea Morgan, Halle Myers, Stephaney Myers, Bradon Paulsen, Meghan Riel, Joseph Rynkewicz, Kaite Sharp and Aleida Wilkins.
