Whole-hog sausage breakfast planned

Mayfield Congregational Church of Christ in Sycamore will host its annual Fall Pancake Breakfast from 6:30-11 a.m. Nov. 14.

Mayfield Church is located at the corner of Church and Aldrich roads in rural Sycamore. Tickets will be available at the door for $7.50 adults and $3.50 for children ages 4-10; the meal is free for children younger than 4.

Whole hog sausage will be available for purchase in the downstairs dining hall. Visit the Women’s Fellowship Country Store located in the narthex for fresh-baked and preserved goods.

Attendees can enter their names to win a door prize donated by neighborhood merchants.

Chili and soup will be served buffet-style

A chili and soup supper with salad/dessert bar will be served continuously from 4:30-7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Faith United Methodist Church, 325 S. Stott St. in Genoa.

Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 6-12.

Other soups will be available for younger children and the meal is free for children 5 and younger.

Bazaar will accompany corned beef dinner

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hinckley annual corned beef and cabbage supper will be served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at View and McKinley streets. Carry-outs are available.

Cost is $9 for adults, 18 and older; $6 for youths, 6-17; and free for children 5 and younger.

The Women’s Bazaar starts at 3 p.m., upstairs in the back of the sanctuary, with handmade items.

Soup and Sandwich Supper set for Nov. 14

The community is invited to a soup and sandwich supper being served by the Altar Guild of St. John Lutheran Church in Sycamore, from 4:30-7 p.m. Nov. 14. St. John is located at 26555 Brickville Road.

The menu consists of soup, sandwich, drink and a dessert. All soups are homemade and choices are chicken noodle, split pea or vegetable beef, with choice of a hot barbecue sandwich or hot dog, or cold sandwich – egg salad or ham. Desserts will include bars and cookies. The cost is $5 for each person and tickets can be purchased at the door. Carry-out meals also will be available.

A bake sale will be held during the dinner.

Casserole supper planned in Cortland

From 4:30-7 p.m. Nov. 14, Cortland United Methodist Church, 45 W. Chestnut Ave., will serve a casserole supper.

Cost will be $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 5-13. The meal is free for younger children.

Burlington church to host spaghetti supper

St. John Lutheran Church in Burlington will host its annual all-you-can-eat Spaghetti Supper/Bake Sale from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 14 at the church at 13N535 French Road.

Cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 6-12; and free for children younger than 6. Carry-out meals are available.

Benefit breakfast for Kim family scheduled

A benefit breakfast will be served from 7 a.m.-noon Nov. 15 in the Parish Hall of St. Catherine of Genoa, 340 S. Stott St. The meal is sponsored by the St. Catherine Parish family, Knights of Columbus 14294 and the Men’s Club of St. Catherine’s Church for Ashley Kim, the Genoa-Kingston Middle School seventh-grader who was paralyzed during a summer pool party accident.

All of the donations collected at the public breakfast will go directly to the Kim family to help with ongoing medical expenses. In addition, direct donations can be made at any National Bank & Trust location.
