Free classes offered for 4-C members
Community Coordinated Child Care is offering three classes in November at the 4-C office, 155 N. Third St., Suite 300, in DeKalb.
Color My Meals Healthy will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Monday. Membership in 4-C is required for this free class for child care center staff and family child care providers. This hands-on workshop is a fun and interactive training for child care staff to learn how to plan and prepare affordable healthy meals and snacks and discover how to make menu enhancements that will align with upcoming recommendations for CACFP menus.
Grief and Loss in Young Children will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday. This is a free workshop for child care center staff and family child care providers. Through this training, child care providers can learn how to respond to the child’s needs when grief is present in their lives, because children experience and communicate grief through different venues.
Red Cross First Aid will be held from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 11. At this free workshop for child care center staff and family child care providers, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries. This class provides certification that is accepted by DCFS to meet licensing requirements.
Registration and 4-C membership is required for each class; call Kim Sciacero at ext. 226 at 815-758-8149 or 800-848-8727.
