Comments (...)

NIU’s Department of Geography – Advanced Geospatial laboratory will host its second annual GIS Night from 6-8:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in Davis Hall, Room 114.

This event is open to the public and adults and students of all ages are encouraged to attend.

Formally called “GIS Day,” these activities are part of an international program that promotes Geographic Information Systems, Global Positioning Systems and other mapping technologies.

This event demonstrates many of the modern day technologies to which many people have become accustomed. The NIU laboratory will hold several demonstrations, as well as some hands-on activities with mapping, 2D/3D technology, geovisualization and GPS technology.

For further information, contact Philip Young at 815-753-0583 or pyoung@niu.edu.
