Men charged in Sunday morning robbery

SYCAMORE – Two men have been charged with robbing a third man early Sunday morning in DeKalb.
Police say that Darius Fizer, 18, of the 7400 block of Randolph Road in Forest Park, and James Howard, 20, of the 2500 block of Williams Way in DeKalb, approached a male victim in the 800 block of Greenbrier Road a few minutes after midnight Sunday.
The victim was struck in the head by one of the the men, according to a written statement from DeKalb Police, and the two men then demanded property from the victim, implying they had a gun. The two took the cell phone and wallet of the victim, according to court documents, and fled south toward the 800 block of Russell Road.
The victim sustained a minor injury that did not require medical attention, according to DeKalb Police.
Fizer and Howard were located on the balcony of an apartment in the 900 block of Crane Drive, according to the statement from DeKalb Police. They were identified and arrested, according to the statement, and the property taken during the robbery was found on the balcony.
Fizer was charged with aggravated robbery, a Class 1 Felony, and obstructing justice, a Class 4 Felony. Bond was set Monday at $50,000 during a hearing at the DeKalb County Courthouse in Sycamore and given a court date of Nov. 10. He was also arrested on two failure-to-appear warrants out of Cook County.
Howard was charged with aggravated robbery. Bond was set Monday at $50,000 during a court hearing. He also is next due in court Nov. 10.
