Power restored in Sandwich

SANDWICH – A power outage caused by strong winds left about 1,400 ComEd customers in Sandwich without power Saturday morning.

ComEd spokesman Paul Callighan said that power went out at about 10 a.m., with the problem traced to a broken cross arm on a pole near Route 34 and Duvick Avenue.

"We were able to isolate the area and reroute power and everyone was restored around 11:15," Callighan said.
