55th annual Women’s Fellowship of First Congregational Church Holiday Fruitcake Sale: The fruitcakes can be ordered after Sunday services on a sign-up sheet in the church narthex or by calling the church office at 815-758-0691, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by leaving a message at that number 24 hours a day. Cost is $6 for a small fruitcake or $12 for a large fruitcake. Orders may be picked up after noon Nov. 6 or before or after Sunday worship Nov. 8.

DeKalb First United Methodist Women’s 54th annual Holiday Bazaar: 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 7, at Fourth and Oak streets.

Good Shepherd Lutheran School Door to the Holiday Craft Fair: Nov. 7 at 1111 Van St. in Elgin. The event also will include a turkey dinner with beans, potatoes and cranberry sauce, and food donations are sought. This event usually serves 300.

Creston Booster Club Christmas vendor show: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Creston Opera House on South Main Street. The kitchen will sell coffee, hot chocolate and doughnuts in the morning and soup and sandwiches after noon. Ashton-Franklin Center Parent Teacher Club’s second annual Fall Bazaar: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 7 at the AFC Elementary School, 217 S. 27th annual Craft Show: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Norway Improvement League Building, near Route 71 in Norway, Ill., which is south of Sheridan. Admission and parking are free. This arts and crafts show will feature original artists and crafters displaying handmade products, including ornaments, quilts, woods, florals and other gift items. Admission is a $1 donation at the door. Proceeds will benefit Kaneland’s Peer Leadership student organization, which promotes team-building and leadership skills through many sports and activities in the school, including the Mr. Kaneland Pagent, which raises money for the Delnor Center for Breast Health, Freshman Orientation Day and Freshman Fridays. 21st annual “Wonderful World of Christmas” Craft Show: 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at Genoa-Kingston High School on Route 72 west in Genoa. More than 75 area crafters and businesses will display items, including oak accent furniture, hand-painted apparel, wickless candles, vinyl lettering and G-K school apparel. From 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Santa will hear special wishes. Admission is $1 for adults and 50 cents for children; more than 75 chances to win door prizes will be available. A 50/50 cash drawing will take place at the end of the show, along with a raffle for a beautiful handmade breast cancer-themed crocheted afghan. This event is sponsored by the Genoa Community Women’s Club, which this year is celebrating its 62nd year as a club, to benefit the G-K High School  scholarship fund. Scholarships are awarded each year to deserving G-K graduating high school seniors. Last year, three students were awarded $1,000 each. The club also donates money throughout the year to community and area programs or people in need of help. Monthly meetings of Genoa Community Women’s Club, at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Resource Bank (lower level) in Genoa, welcomes all women from the Genoa, Kingston and surrounding towns. Greenery Sale deadline: Nov. 10 for Big Rock Boy Scout Troop 19’s sale. Call 815-286-7228 or 815-286-7275 to order fresh balsam items with large red velvet bows, including wreaths in six sizes, 25- or 50-foot-long roping or garland, memorial pots and grave blankets in three sizes, swags, canes and crosses, which will be delivered Thanksgiving weekend.

DAWC Holiday Shopping Fair:
6-9 p.m. Dec. 4 and 9-4 p.m. Dec. 5 at 1021 State St., DeKalb. Crafters, artists and home-based business operators can apply for spaces at the DeKalb Area Women’s Center Almost Annual Shopping Fair. Booth size is 8-square-feet and cost is $50 for the two-day fair. Those needing electricity should bring long extension cords and will add $5 to the fee. Admission to the fair is 25 cents, which includes a door-prize ticket. For a registration form and complete rules, call 815-758-1351.
