Kaneland to hold preschool screenings

Kaneland School District 302 will conduct preschool screenings from 8-11 a.m. Oct. 30 at Faith Assembly, 44W555 Keslinger Road in Elburn.

While not a kindergarten screening, the event will check development milestones, including speech, hearing and vision for children ages 3-5. Kaneland parents are encouraged to bring their children.

To schedule an appointment for children younger than 2 years, 8 months, call Child and Family Connections for Kane and Kendall counties at 630-761-9227, ext. 117.

Indian Creek to host three screenings

Indian Creek School District 425 will hold preschool screenings for district children who are 5 and younger but not eligible for kindergarten in the 2010-11 school year.

The screening process should take about 45 minutes and parents should expect to complete a questionnaire on their child’s health and social development.

In addition to screening academic ability, a vision and hearing screening will be done for children ages 3-5.

Call 815-824-8257 to schedule a time; appointments are needed for any of the following screenings:

• Shabbona Elementary School: 3-7 p.m. Nov. 5, during parent/teacher conferences, for ages 3-5 only

• Waterman Elementary School: 8:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Feb. 8; morning appointments only will be offered for children 3 and younger.

• Shabbona Elementary School: 8:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. March 11; morning appointments only will be offered for children 3 and younger.
