Bosom Buddies to benefit KCH cancer center

By DAILY CHRONICLE
This Harley-Davidson-themed quilt will be featured at the live auction of the Bosom Buddies Breastival benefit on Oct. 24 at the motorcycle dealership on Peace Road in DeKalb.

Bosom Buddies Breastival, which is scheduled for 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 24 at Pierce Harley-Davidson, 969 Peace Road in DeKalb, will be an event to benefit the Women’s Boutique, which will be part of the new Kishwaukee Community Hospital Cancer Care Center.

Organizers of the Breastival hope to continue it as an annual event.

Bosom Buddies is a day-long event that will feature activities, breast health information, music and silent and live auctions. Organizers are assembling theme baskets that will appeal to both men and women for the auctions and would appreciate any donation the community would like to make toward a basket. Each donating business will be given credit at the auctions.

The hospital’s boutique will provide wigs, prostheses, undergarments, cosmetics and personal -care luxuries for women with cancer in the community.

The Bosom Buddies event silent auction hours are 9 a.m-3 p.m., with live auction beginning at noon, highlighting a one-of-a-kind quilt. Theme baskets will appeal to both men and women for both auctions.

For more information, stop by the motorcycle dealership, call 815-756-4558 or send e-mail to pierceh-d57@yahoo.com.
