This musical extravaganza is filled with toe-tapping tunes and borrows its plot directly from the characters and happenings in various Dr. Seuss books, according to a news release. The result is a production that takes the audiences on an unpredictable ride through the depths of fantasy to the greenery of the Jungle of Nool. The cast of 30 features Cornelius Marr of Sugar Grove as the Cat in the Hat; Jake Rosko, also of Sugar Grove, as JoJo; Kris Pagoria, director, Sheridan, as Horton; Sarah Haines, Sheridan, as Gertrude McFuzz; Nicole Hambly, Leland, as Mayzie LaBird; Natalie Creviston, Genoa, as Sour Kangaroo; Gary Riggle, Aurora, as Mr. Mayor; Christine Roe, Plano, as Mrs. Mayor; Ava Godhart, Hinckley; Chloe Bluml, Sugar Grove; Adriana Resendiz, Sandwich, and Jessie Wilson, Sycamore, as Bird Girls; Brittany Watne, Waterman, Liz Pickett, Plainfield, and Skylar Montavon, Sycamore, as the Wickershams; Daniel Rosier, Yorkville, as General Gengus Khan Schmitz; CarLeigh Pagoria, Sandwich as Yurtle, the Turtle; Christopher Roe, Plano, as The Grinch; Caitlyn Roe, Plano, as Thing 1; McKenna Potter, Somonauk, as Thing 2; John Haines, Sheridan, as Vlad Vladikoff and Tweet McFurth; Sharon Pagoria, Sandwich, as Dr. Drake; and Hattie Wiesbrooke, Kristin Wiesbrooke, Maxwell Rosier and Alicia Rosier, Yorkville, Annie Shirley, Plano, Brianna Viracalli, Genoa, Amy Haines, Sheridan, and Michele Wade, Sandwich, in the ensemble. The production is directed by Kris Pagoria, Sheridan, with musical direction by Susan Webb, Yorkville, and choreography by Danielle Smoljo, Sheridan. The Cat in The Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, the Whos of Whoville and more will appear in this family musical adventure for all ages, the release said. “Seussical: the Musical” is at the Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St., Oct. 16-18, and Oct. 23 and 25. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Reservations can be made by calling the Opera House Box Office at 815-786-2555.
