By NICK GERTS - ngerts@daily-chronicle.com

Jessica Struthers finished in 38th place to help lead the North Central College women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championship on Saturday.

The Cardinals closed out the fall portion of their schedule with a team score of 361 on the final day of the tournament and finished with an overall score of 725. Illinois Wesleyan won the title with a 665.

Struthers, a DeKalb graduate, finished with a two-day total of 204. She shot a 103 on the first day before closing out the tournament with a 101.

The North Central senior has competed in all but one tournament this fall. The 38th-place finish was Struthers' highest since taking 26th at the Robert Morris University Fall Classic on Sept. 4. She averaged a 99.3 in seven events.

Anderson leads Platteville to .500 record: Former Sycamore standout Nick Anderson's first season as the Wisconsin-Platteville quarterback has seen mixed results through four games.

The freshman has led the Pioneers to a 2-2 record, and has thrown for 625 yards and one touchdown. He has completed 76 of his 125 attempted passes, but has been picked off six times.

Anderson has shown his running skills as well, as the Sycamore alum is the team's second-leading rusher with 97 yards on 28 attempts.

On Saturday, Anderson went 26-for-41 for 175 yards without a touchdown, but had two interceptions in the Pioneers' 35-3 loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater. His 29-yard pass to running back Brandon Hertrampf set up Wisconsin-Platteville's lone points of the game, a 27-yard field goal from Tony Smidl in the second quarter.

Johnson sees time in first year: Allison Johnson's first year at Arkansas has yielded limited playing time, as the redshirt freshman has played in only 15 games this season. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker, who transferred from Missouri, has 10 kills and has assisted on 12 blocks.

Johnson last saw action in a 3-0 loss to Tennessee on Sept. 25. She played in one game and had one kill on five attempts. She also had two assisted blocks.
