BIRTHDAY
75th birthday
An open house in celebration of Don Lampkins’ 75th birthday will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. today at 315 E. Lincoln St. in Sycamore.
Lampkins was a local contractor for many years and then worked for the Sycamore Street Department for 19 years. Don and his wife, Donna, reside in Sycamore, where he handcrafts bag games, Adirondack chairs, wooden lawn ornaments, bird houses and assorted wooden crafts. The open house is being hosted by his children, Cheryl Maness, Doris Grubbs (Terry Carlton), Don (Kathy) Lampkins, Deana (Ed) Eberly and Steve (Barbara) Lampkins. Please omit gifts.
ENGAGEMENT
Snow-Klecka
Kelli Lynn Snow of DeKalb and Jonathan Klecka of Tulsa, Okla., are engaged to be married.
Snow is the daughter of Robert and Pamela Snow of DeKalb. She graduated from DeKalb High School in 2005 and received a Bachelor of Science from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., in May. She will begin teaching in the fall as an elementary school teacher or ESL teacher in Tulsa.
Klecka is the son of Mark and Debra Klecka of Chana. He was home-schooled and completed his GED from Kishwaukee College. He is currently working as the rental manager/salesman at Action Power Sports in Tulsa.
ANNIVERSARY
60th anniversary
Doris and Ken Hetchler, in conjunction with OF Club, invite family and friends to their 10th annual picnic on July 18 at their Cortland residence. Breakfast will be served from 6-9 a.m. A pig roast will be from noon-8 p.m. and guests are asked to bring a dish to share.
Festivities will be in celebration of Ken’s 80th birthday and the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary, both having occurred in May. The couple asks that gifts be omitted.
Both Doris and Ken are active in the community after having moved there in November 1949. Ken served in public office for 38 years, including 32 as mayor.
