
Church league returns to actionBy DAILY CHRONICLEThe DeKalb/Sycamore Church Fastpitch League returns to action on Monday following its All-Star game on Saturday. Immanuel Lutheran and Christ Community played a low-scoring game with Christ Community winning 4-2. Kevin Nelson notched the victory and Jim Harvey received the loss. Hillcrest Covenant continued its winning ways with a victory over DeKalb 1st Baptist. Dale McMillan continued his strong pitching, holding 1st Baptist to three runs over four innings. Ernie Pate and Seth Miller led Covenant in hitting while Matt Macarus was 3-for-4 for Baptist. Sycamore 1st Baptist I remained undefeated in league play, downing a full Sycamore Methodist II squad, 21-16. Offensively, Trent Campbell led the Methodists in a losing effort while Nakota Garbes received her second winning decision on the mound. Sycamore 1st Baptist II defeated Salem Lutheran, 10-5. Kelsi Countryman claimed the victory and Tim Fillmore led the Baptists in hitting. |
