75th birthday
An open house in celebration of Don Lampkins’ 75th birthday will be held form 11 a.m.-3 p.m. July 4 at 315 E. Lincoln St. in Sycamore.
Lampkins was a local contractor for many years and then worked for the Sycamore Street Department for 19 years. Don and his wife, Donna, reside in Sycamore, where he handcrafts bag games, Adirondack chairs, wooden lawn ornaments, bird houses and assorted wooden crafts. The open house is being hosted by his children, Cheryl Maness, Doris Grubbs (Terry Carlton), Don (Kathy) Lampkins, Deana (Ed) Eberly and Steve (Barbara) Lampkins. The family also asks that gifts be omitted.
ANNIVERSARIES
60th anniversary
Arthur J. (Artie) and Carol Ann (Eberly) Bergstrand of Hinckley will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 2. The couple was married on July 2, 1949, in Prophetstown.
Parents of the couple are the late Arthur W. and Edith (Pritchard) Bergstrand and the late Clarence and Dorothy (Wiltse) Eberly. Mr. Bergstrand is retired from the Hinckley Lumber Co. Mrs. Bergstrand is retired from the Shabbona Healthcare Center.
They are the parents of six children: Robin (Al) Thorson and Leif Bergstrand of Hinckley, Eric Bergstrand of Maryville, Tenn., Chris (Cindy) Bergstrand of Pekin, Anita (Michael) Kopko of Ottawa and Swen (Angi) Bergstrand of Shabbona. They have 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. An open house hosted by the couple’s children will be held from 3-5 p.m. July 5 at the Hinckley First United Methodist Church in Hinckley.
40th anniversary
John and Sue Cliffe of DeKalb are celebrating their 40th anniversary this month with a family dinner. John Cliffe and Sue Evans were married June 28, 1969, at St. Mary’s Church in DeKalb.
The couple have two children, Christy (Brandon) Swanson of DeKalb and Michelle (Eric) Pairitz of Geneva. They also have five grandchildren, Travis and Ryann Swanson and Maddy, Regan and Cuyler Pairitz.

Jorda-Galvin
Amy Elizabeth Jorda and Andrew Phillip Galvan, both of Malta, are engaged to be married July 24 at South Pointe Center in DeKalb.
Jorda is the daughter of Forrest and Kimberly Brandon of DeKalb. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree from Aurora University. She currently works as a teacher at Aurora High School in Aurora.
Galvan is the son of Lupe and Pat Galvan of DeKalb. He received an associate’s degree from Kishwaukee College and currently works as a computer programmer at Integrant Co. in DeKalb.
