CCA students provide service to community

By DAILY CHRONICLE

Students at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Sycamore are encouraged to be active participants in their churches through worship attendance, but, even beyond the Sunday obligation, to use their God-given giftedness in serving in key ministry areas.

The secondary staff recognized “Service Hours” as a key benefit to be included in the overall grading process. It is the intention to connect students and their families into a relational community called the church.

Some of the way students have fulfilled their “Service Hours” is through teaching Sunday school, tutoring after school, leading in worship, serving in their youth group, mission trips and packing boxes for “Feed the Hungry.”

Some of the CCA parents have even gotten involved by organizing an opportunity for a group of students to serve. Others in the community who might have ideas for opportunities for students should contact the school office.
