Genoa Lions Club hosts Diabetes Awareness Day
Genoa Lions were stationed at three different bank lobbies in Genoa on May 9 to distribute literature to help diagnose a diabetic condition and hand out sugar-free candy.
Stationed at Citizens Bank in downtown Genoa were Lions Bill Holdridge and Dale Pelley. Manning the door at NB&T on the corner of Route 23 and Pearson Srive were Lions Josh Haka and Roland Dailey. Handing out information and candy at Resource Bank on Route 23 were Lion Don Worst and Lion President Rene VanDerHeyden.
The Genoa Lions will host free eye retinopathy testing on July 11 at Resource Bank on Route 23 in Genoa.
This free test helps to detect detached retinas and markers that lead to vision loss, and takes only minutes to complete. The testing will be held from 9 a.m.-noon and is not only for diabetics or the elderly.
