Foster absent from bill’s supporter list

To the editor:

Americans are finally becoming aware that the Federal Reserve System is not a part of our government, but actually a private cartel owned and controlled by both domestic and foreign bankers. More frightening is that it actually operates outside any of our laws. Former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan was recently quoted as saying that the Federal Reserve answers to no one! In short, a tiny group of the wealthiest people in the world control what ultimately happens to every single one of us and our families – and we’ve been powerless to do anything about it!

Congressman Ron Paul of Texas is trying to change that. He has introduced a bill in Congress, HR1207, which, if passed, will allow full accounting to the American people of where the money has gone, is going and who is benefiting behind the scenes. As of this writing, the bill has 179 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives (a significant number), with one very glaring absentee, Congressman Bill Foster of our 14th District.

Recently, representatives of the organization Campaign for Liberty interviewed the Congressman. They reported that “Congressman Foster did admit that some sort of transparency on the Fed is necessary, but explained that he and his staff felt HR1207 could be dangerous in that if the public found out where the money has been spent it might cause mass hysteria.”

What an outrageous position! If the situation is so serious as to possibly cause mass hysteria, don’t you think we ought to know about it, Congressman Foster? We didn’t send you to Congress to hide what goes on there. Prove to us all that you really are a man of the people and co-sponsor HR1207, and then work for its passage! We have a right to know what’s going on!

Millions of Americans are out of work and suffering financially. Politicians and the media have placed the blame everywhere but where it squarely belongs – with Congress and the Fed. I urge everyone to call or write Congressman Foster’s office and urge him to co-sponsor HR1207.

Foster’s office is at 27 N. River St., Batavia, IL 60510. It can also be reached by phone at 630-406-1114.
