Locally designed cards available for purchase

By Chronicle Staff

Holiday cards designed by area children are available for purchase.

In August, campers attending programs at the Kishwaukee Family YMCA were invited to submit a holiday picture whose sale would benefit the Meals on Wheels program run by the Voluntary Action Center, according to a news release from VAC.

Six designs were chosen and made into cards. The designers are Kelsey Boddy, Rachel Wesbrock, Madeline Ruehl, Carlee Unger, Destinee Feliciano and Rodney Wilson.

Cards are available for a donation of $5 per packet of six cards, the release stated. All proceeds will be given to the Meals on Wheels, which VAC has been providing for the last 19 years.

Cards are available at Voluntary Action Center and the YMCA, as well as Lehan Drug and Home Health Care, Moxie and Megan Morrison in DeKalb; Kar-Fre Flowers and the Sycamore Scent Shop & Boutique in Sycamore; The Prairie State Winery in Genoa; the Clinton Township Library in Waterman; and the Flewellin Memorial Library in Shabbona.

They will also be available during the Ellwood House Holiday Open House on Saturday and Sunday, as well as Dec. 13 and 14.

For information, call VAC at 815-758-3932.
