Speeding – Police said Elve Mitchell, 26, of DeKalb was stopped about 4 p.m. in the 200 block of North Annie Glidden Road for speeding. Police said they learned afterward that the insurance card Mitchell displayed was on a policy that had been canceled in September. He was cited for speeding, and police said citations are pending for driving an uninsured vehicle and for displaying a false insurance card.

Tuesday

Warrant arrest – At an unspecified time, police stopped to help a stranded motorist in the 500 block of North Annie Glidden Road, police said. The man, Anthony D. Williams, 37, of Chicago, was arrested on an unspecified Montgomery County failure-to-appear warrant.

Driving with a suspended license – Police said Durrell J. Swindle, 21, of DeKalb was stopped about 9:45 a.m. in the 700 block of North Annie Glidden Road for driving without wearing a seat belt. Police said he gave a false name and date of birth to avoid being arrested for driving with a suspended license. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, attempted obstruction of justice, and driving without a seat belt. After police determined the insurance card he provided was for a policy that had been canceled, he was also charged with driving an uninsured vehicle and displaying a false insurance card, police said.

Permitting a minor to become intoxicated – Police said they arrested Rachel E. Stellmach, 19, of DeKalb about 7:30 p.m. at an apartment in the 1300 block of North Annie Glidden Road on charges she permitted a minor to become intoxicated.
